PostSubject: Interesting Website You May Not Know   Tue Feb 07, 2017 9:07 am

What's up everybody? Amy here with a topic that interests me personally. I have always been fascinated by the vast expanse of the internet and all of the interesting things you can find. I recently began watching videos on exploring the Deep Web, and wow there is a lot of weird and cool stuff. If you don't know what the Deep Web is, it's basically the part of the internet that is not indexed by traditional search engines - such as Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. The concept is much more complex and I am still learning about it.

However, I thought it would be cool if I shared with you different weird and cool websites that you can find on the Deep and Clear Web (clear web is just the regularly indexed part of the internet). Basically, if I come across a unique website that I find cool, weird, or interesting I will share it here. Also, if you know of any websites that are unique and maybe unknown to the masses, please share it here.

RULES
I know, Bamhumbug, but these rules are meant to keep everyone safe from dangerous and scary the parts of the internet. These rules are reasonable and allow this forum to be an enjoyable place for everyone.

  1. Do not post websites that contain illegal content. If you are unsure of what you are posting, please ask admin first.
  2. Please do not post websites containing pornographic content. This includes video, images and text such as explicit fan fiction.
  3. Do not post your personal websites for the sake of advertisement. For example, if you post an affiliate link or personal business the post may be deleted and your forum membership will be in question.
  4. Do not post websites of questionable nature - for example hate and racist websites.
  5. If something you post contains explicit content, such as language or thematic topics, please indicate that in your post as to warn other members. If you are unsure if the site is OK to post, please ask Admin first. Better to ask than to be banned from the forum.

If something you post contains any of the content listed above, the post will be removed and you will be banned from the forum. Also, if your post contains illegal content, the site will be reported to the authorities and so will you.

One Million Giraffes

So, for my first website I thought I would post something that is a combination of funny, weird, interesting, and kinda cute. The website is called One Million Giraffes and that is literally what it is... a website with one million unique pictures of giraffes. The website creator states that he made a bet with a friend, Jorgen, in 2009 that he couldn't find one million pics of giraffes. Needless to say, Jorgen lost the bet. Check out the giraffes for yourself, it's just so cute and weird.

PostSubject: Leslie Hall - Gem Sweater Museum   Tue Feb 07, 2017 10:15 am

Leslie Hall & The Gem Sweater Museum

This post is a sort of two for one deal...

After posting about One Million Giraffes collection, I recalled a magically weird collection website from my youth. There is a woman by the name of Leslie Hall who is a unique individual and sensation on the internet. Her Instagram states that she has sort of gone into retirement, but if you haven't heard of Leslie Hall, you are missing out. Leslie Hall is a satirical music artist and front woman of the band "Leslie and the LY's". You can find her on YouTube, where she has music videos with over 13 million views. One of my favorite videos is "Zombie Killer" which features Elvira Mistress of the Dark. Leslie is also the curator and operator of the "Gem Sweater Museum" based in Ames, Iowa. Yes, you read that right, it's a "Gem Sweater Museum" filled with 80's style gem sweaters. Leslie's eclectic interests are vast and she is an internet beauty that you must behold for yourself. Leslie even offers wedding packages on her website, in which you can have an "Iowa Style Wedding". Her wedding packages can include: a unique song written for you by her band, releasing of chickens, goat frolicking, food and a cake, illegal fireworks, and much more.

If you want to learn more about Leslie Hall and the Gem Sweater Museum you can check out the links below.

Hey guys!

I am back with another interesting website. I know the last two have were a bit more comical so I thought I would share something different. Last weekend was Pensacon, a Comic Con here in Pensacola, FL where the Nerd Cave is based. I was there very briefly, but I got to browse around all the different vendors and see some of the awesome artists that came to the convention. One artist in particular that stood out to me was Nen Chang. Chang is a "concept artist, illustrator, and low brow artist who occasionally dabbles in comics", according to her site. She has worked with Legend of Five Rings, Shinobi Clans, and clients such as Marvel, DC, Dynamite, and many others.

Her art was so detailed, with dark yet ethereal elements. I personally find visual art very inspiring and I felt a strong connection to her work just looking through it briefly at the convention. Below is a link for a website where you can look at her art and find out more about her. She also is on Deviantart, Facebook and Tumblr. She also does live videos on Twitch where she accepts requests (for $20) for live sketching. I think that is so unique and a cool way to connect with people.

Here is an example of some of her art and her website link:
